22 August 2016 - Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus visited the Faculty of Business Administration, Kasetsart University. Prof Yunus and his delegates were welcomed by the officials of the academe namely Associate Professor Dr. Sasivimol Meeampol, Dean, Faculty of Business Administration; Associate Professor Dr. Bordin Rassameethes, Former Dean of Faculty of Business Administration, Former Vice President, KU; Assistant Professor Dr. Haruthai Numprasertchai, Associate Dean for Academic; Assistant Professor Phantipa Srinammuang, Associate Dean for Special Project; Dr. Yodmanee Tepanon, Assistant Dean for Quality Assurance; Dr. Suparerk Sooksmarn, Assistant Dean for Administration, and Dr. Theerapong Tangteerasunan, Appointed Consultant Faculty of Business Administration, Yunus Center.
During Prof Yunus’ visit, an announcement was made by Associate Professor Dr. Sasivimol Meeampol, Dean, Faculty of Business Administration regarding the opening of Yunus Social Business Centre at the university. The project was made possible by an MOU signed by Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus and Associate Professor Dr. Sasivimol Meeampol, Dean, Faculty of Business Administration last July 29, 2016, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The center will work on promoting the Social Business concept as well as its practice as a way to combat social problems. On the same occasion, the Nation Multimedia Group editorial board adviser, Mr. Suthichai Yoon, thoroughly interviewed Professor Yunus in his visit. Such interview was published nation-wide in the reputed Nation newspaper, a leading English-language daily newspaper owned by the Nation Multimedia Group.
